The WHS Texan Stars Pom and Dance Team is led by Coach Ashley Redding and the esteemed faculty of Wimberley Dance Elite.

Coach Ashley Redding
Ashley is currently a student at Texas State University studying toward a Bachelors degree in Dance Education and Secondary Mathematics. She was a Texas State University Strutter for three years, and held two social offices during her time on the team. She is also on staff for Marching Auxiliaries Dance Company where she specializes in teaching Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Pom to high school students across the nation at summer camps. She has a passion for the art of dance and loves to share that passion with her students.
The Stars are Born
For those of you who do not know, in January of 2017, Wimberley Dance Elite approached WISD and Wimberley High School about collaborating to start a dance team. Both Mr. York and Mr. Valentine were hopeful and appreciative, but also hesitant. The last attempt at a dance team was, in the words of the kids, an "epic fail" for everyone involved. But love won again. The district's love for its students and desire to provide opportunities and our love for dance and desire to bring it to our community is beautifully real. The 2017-2018 Texan Stars led by WDE's Victoria Wilson established the team as a permanent and growing organization for the students of WHS and the town of Wimberley.
